It was a big day for Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly. Just a month and a half after finishing radiation and chemotherapy, Kelly took to the field to host his one day football clinic for kids.

It was his first day running the clinic in Rochester, but all last week, Kelly was doing the same thing in Buffalo.

Jim Kelly, former Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback, said, “I’m not going to let these kids down. I was a kid. I know what it is like to look forward to meeting someone and I want to make a difference in these kids’ lives.”

Doctors have advised Jim to slow down, but he only knows one speed, which is fast. Kelly is still eating out of a feeding tube, he is down 51 pounds. The recovery process tests his patience.

Kelly said, “I have always run stadium steps. Now I'm lucky I can walk them. That is one of the things I found out is going to take time. I'm not very patience you know. We ran the no huddle. That's what I want with my recover. I want it to come around now. I have a lot of things to do.”

One of the most important things Kelly has to do is walk his daughters down the aisle.

Kelly said, “The biggest bucket list is to walk my daughters down the aisle. That's my number one objective, to make sure I'm here for them.”

Kelly added he is so proud of how strong his family has been throughout the process.
