Today is the practice round and day two of the Wegmans LPGA at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford. It’s your chance to get up close and personal with the top golfers from around the world. The best part? It’s free to see.
The Wegmans LPGA brings millions of dollars into the Rochester area -- $20-million each year according to officials. LPGA staff, golfers and the fans spend money on food, entertainment and a place to stay and that means increased business for area hotels.
We spoke with the president of the Rochester Hotel Association about this being the last year of the Wegmans LPGA in Rochester and what that means for our community.
Rochester Hotel Association President Michael Marsch said, “Anytime we lose an event of this nature, it does have a negative impact. Obviously our hope is we can continue to grow our other events and hopefully secure the PGA for future years.”

Remember – today’s practice round is free and you don’t need a ticket.
