Things got heated at Bills practice this morning. A fight broke out amongst teammates leading to one unhappy head coach.
Eric Wood is a captain of the Buffalo Bills. He is a leader, a team guy, a likeable guy. Wednesday we saw a side of Eric that was provoked after taking shots to the face by a rookie who is a long shot to make this team.
At the end of a play, number 67 Bryan Johnson ripped off Eric Wood's helmet punched him in the head and then went after Scott chandler, ripping off his helmet until players could finally stop the mess.
Chandler had to be held back and Wood could be heard shouting profanities.
And the undrafted rookie, Johnson had some parting words then stormed off the field.
By far the biggest brawl at a Bills practice in recent memory and something Coach Doug Marrone was disgusted with
“I don't think there's a place in this game for any kind of scuffles, you know? And then we put some new players in and we fumbled a snap at the 1-yard line. That's what happens when those things occur. Honestly, I’m going to tell you. This is how I feel, okay? It's not part of the game; therefore, I don't want to speak about it. It hurts the integrity of our game the more we talk about it. That's how I feel about fighting.”
The Bills wrap up training camp tomorrow afternoon.
