Three Syracuse basketball players drafted in the NBA Draft

nullThe NBA Draft got underway Thursday night and three Syracuse players were drafted.

Syracuse’s Dion Waiters went to the Cleveland Cavaliers with the fourth selection. Waiters averaged 12.6 points a game as a sophomore last season despite not starting a single contest.

The Boston Celtics took Syracuse center Fab Melo with the 22nd pick. Melo averaged 7.8 points per game, five rebounds and shot 57% from the field. In the second round, with the 51st overall pick, the Celtics took Syracuse forward Kris Joseph. Joseph averaged 13.4 points per game as a senior for SU.

The only SU senior not drafted was Scoop Jardine.
