Professional golf returns to Rochester this week.
The Symetra Tour's Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic tees off on Thursday, but Monday there was a pro-am featuring area high school girls.
The day featured a long drive competition and a closest to the pin challenge for the high school girls. After that they were able to head out and play alongside some of the pros who will be in the tournament this week.
It's an extremely unique opportunity for the high school girls and for the professionals it's a fun way to learn the course, relax and remember what it was like before they were paid to play golf.
"I see a lot of the girls with their AJGA stuff and it takes me back to my AJGA days and it was so much fun back then," says Lindsey Weaver, Symetra Tour Pro.
"It's very important, it's the highlight of my year just to have the opportunity to speak with a pro and get some tips from her," says Vanessa Fulmore, Aquinas senior. "It's amazing."
Jenna Hoecker says, "I got to play with Danielle the first year of it. I was lucky enough to be in her group, I just tried to pick up anything I could. I just remember it was an amazing opportunity."
