News 10NBC has new information about the Rochester Police officer and the innocent bystander who were shot during a dramatic gunfight last week.

The Rochester Police Department says the bullet that struck passerby Gene McDougal, 47, on June 27th was fired from Sergeant Flamur Zenelovic's gun. Sergeant Zenelovic was defending himself during a shootout with double homicide suspect Ralph Strong, 31, near North Goodman and Norton Streets. Strong, who also goes by his rap name, "Irak the Prince," has been charged with second degree murder for a double homicide that happened earlier last week.

Sergeant Zenelovic, a ten year veteran of the RPD, was shot several times in his upper body. McDougal was shot in the leg.

Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard visited McDougal in the hospital. Both McDougal and Sergeant Zenelovic are now at home recovering.

Strong is in custody at Strong Hospital.
