3 suspects on the run, 1 in custody after carjacking in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police have one person in custody, but are looking for three more, after a carjacking Friday afternoon.

They say it all happened shortly before 4 p.m.

An officer noticed a car that was taken during a carjacking.

This led to a short pursuit that ended on Diringer Place, where four men fled from the vehicle.

The stolen vehicle was left in drive and struck a nearby fence and tree.

One of the occupants was taken into custody in Goodman Plaza.

The remaining three were not located.

Police tell News10NBC the original carjacking occurred in the 2100 block of Clifford Avenue.

There was a minor motor vehicle accident that occurred when the stolen vehicle hit another car as it fled from the officer.

No one was hurt.

The investigation was ongoing.
