4-year-old boy dies after being hit by car
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police can confirm that a 4-year-old boy has died at the hospital after being hit by a car on Sunday evening.
Police say that it happened around 5 p.m. on Columbia Avenue by Florence Street. The child was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital where he passed.
Rochester Police Captain Steven Swetman said that nothing appears to be criminal in nature, and it doesn’t appear to be a hit and run.
"As it gets warmer, it’s incumbent upon motorists to slow down and be observant, but it’s also incumbent on people to watch what’s going on in their own neighborhood and do their best to help control some of the speeding going on," Swetman said.
