Bills bring back Shaq Lawson on 1 year deal

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — A day after DT Jordan Phillips was reintroduced as a Bill following a previous stint in Buffalo, another defensive lineman has followed suit. DE Shaq Lawson is returning to Western New York on a one-year deal (the same length as Phillips’s).

A six-year veteran, Lawson was a first round draft pick by the organization in 2016. Upon the conclusion of his rookie deal, he spent the 2020 season with the Dolphins before the Jets claimed him last year, where he registered four sacks. It was reminiscent of his first go-around with the Bills.

In his four-year tenure, the 27-year old recorded 16.5 sacks, including two in one game twice. Those were part of a 2019 season that saw Lawson finish with 6.5, a career-high.
