Bills defensive end Darryl Johnson going by ‘Bam’ now

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — Training camp continues and Bills defensive end Darryl Johnson wants us to call him "Bam" now, so that’s what we’ll call him.

Bam is going into his third year with the Bills, after being drafted in 2019.

He’s played in 31 regular-season games and made a case for himself in the Bills’ first preseason game, where he finished with a sack and two tackles. Not just that, but he’s shown versatility on special teams.

"He’s a rare guy to have a defensive end that you see sprinting down on kickoffs and blowing people up the way he does," Bills Defensive Coordinator Leslie Frazier said. "As a defensive end, he’s been a little hamstrung, not having an offseason a year ago was tough for him, but this year he really seems to be on course. We like where he is and just gotta keep giving him opportunities."

"My rush angles got a lot tighter. I’m trusting my speed a lot more," Darryl "Bam" Johnson said. "I’m still learning day in and day out. I still got some things to work on, but it’s all coming together."
