Boys and Girls Club shooter sentenced

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Johnny Blackshell was sentenced Wednesday to 147 months in prison the United States Attorney office of the Western District of New York reported.

The 23-year old’s sentence is based upon his plea to Hobbs Act Robbery and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

The Rochester resident was previously sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murders of Johnny Johnson, Raekwon Manigault, and Jonah Barley during a mass shooting outside the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester on August 19, 2015.

Prior to the mass shooting, Blackshell and co-defendant Joseph Lowry entered a Lake Avenue 7-Eleven on August 10 and robbed the store at gunpoint stealing money and good from the store.

Several of the stolen lottery tickets Blackshell took were redeemed as he received the winnings.
