Brighton PD identifies 83-year-old woman killed by car backing out
BRIGHTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — Madeline Schreiber, 83 years old of Brighton, is the senior woman who was hit by a car backing out of a driveway.
The fatal accident happened on Thursday just after 12:30 p.m. After an investigation, it was found out that Schreiber was walking in the roadway when the car backed into her. Schreiber died at the scene, according to the Brighton Police Department.
The driver of the car has been identified as 40-year-old Linda Petrosino. She has been ticketed for Unsafe Backing and will appear in Brighton Town Court at a later date.
Police say the woman’s dog is OK.
