Buffalo Bills earn bounce-back win at home over Carolina Panthers: Game Thread

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Buffalo Bills (8-6) used a home game to its advantage, treating the crowd to a big win over the Carolina Panthers (5-9).

Carolina starts with the football and we’re off from Highmark Stadium!

Buffalo follows up a three-and-out with one of their own and will punt back to Carolina. On the third down, Josh Allen was hit and fumbled, but Spencer Brown was able to recover it.

Jackson is listed as questionable to return.

The Bills are forced to punt again after a completion to Dawson Knox falls short of the yards to gain. Back over to Cam Newton and the Panthers.

Cam Newton misfires on 4th & 1 and the Panthers are now 0-for-2 and 4th down conversions.

Buffalo has possession at the end of the 1st quarter. It’s scoreless from Orchard Park.

Devin Singletary takes a handoff for a 16-yard touchdown and Buffalo connects on the extra point to make it 7-0 Bills. 14:13 left in the second quarter.

Newton slips and falls into a Bills’ sack on 3rd & 8. Carolina is forced to punt back over to the Bills, who get good field position close to midfield.

Allen finds Diggs for the Bills’ second touchdown of the 2nd quarter. Buffalo raises its lead to 14-0.

Carolina comes up empty again and the Bills have the ball with under five minutes left in the half. Josh Allen is looking to tack on more points with Buffalo receiving the second half kickoff.

Jeremy Chin picks off Allen and on the first play from scrimmage after the turnover, Robby Anderson rushes inside the ten yard line on an end-around.

Buffalo can’t punch it in the end zone at the end of the half but a 26-yard Tyler Bass field goal makes it 17-8, Bills at the break. Buffalo will get the kickoff to start the final 30 minutes.

The 17-8 halftime score is the first time that’s ever happened in NFL history.

Gabriel Davis nabs a touchdown for the third consecutive game. Buffalo leads, 24-8.

It stays 24-8, Buffalo, at the end of the third. Carolina has a 4th & 4 to keep a drive going.

The Bills defense comes up with the stop and takes over inside their own 20-yard line.

Buffalo punts to Carolina. 9:49 left in the 4th quarter in a ten point game.

Allen finds Davis for a second score today. The Bills have it locked up with a commanding 31-14 lead.

AJ Klein picks off an underthrown ball by Cam Newton and the Bills can kneel for the win.

Buffalo improves to 8-6 with the victory. They travel to Foxboro to face off against the Patriots (9-5) next Sunday.
