ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20 honored men and women who served at the Greater Rochester Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Highland Park Thursday.
They also recognized those who are still in the United States Armed Forces.
News10NBC was able to talk to David Hanning, who was an interpreter in World War II, during the ceremony.
"It’s very humbling because a lot of lives were lost through the years and many were injured," Hanning said. "Many who we see every day in every town village or city."
Hanning said it’s always great to meet a stranger who has had the same experience.
