Construction on mixed multi-family community Parker Place underway in Perinton

PERINTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — Construction on Parker Place on Route 250 in the Town of Perinton is underway.
The Town of Perinton tweeted an update Wednesday.
Many have noticed activity on Rt. 250 related to the construction of Parker Place, a Pride Mark Homes mixed multi-family community totaling 120 units in 11 buildings with 9 acres of open space. The town says the project will create a mixed multi-family community with 120 total units in 11 buildings.
Those buildings will include multi-family buildings, townhomes and a clubhouse and pool in what is currently 9 acres of open space.
The project comes as Perinton is facing a housing shortage. The town has high occupancy rates and a limited supply of homes. Those two factors are keeping costs high, and the town’s Draft Comprehensive Plan 2020 Update said that’s acting as a barrier to entry for young couples and those on a fixed income.
The plan cited more multi-family units as a solution to the problem.
