Consumer Alert: Skippy peanut butter recall

LITTLE ROCK, AR (WHEC) – Skippy is recalling tens of thousands of jars of peanut butter, over the possibility of steel fragments from machinery.

The voluntary recall includes 9,353 cases or 161,692 lbs worth of various types of peanut butter, some of which was shipped to New York. Specifically, the recall affects the reduced fat creamy peanut butter, reduced fat chunky peanut butter, and creamy peanut butter with plant protein.

Skippy’s parent company, Hormel Foods, says as of now, there are no customer complaints about finding these fragments.

Customers are encouraged to return the peanut butter to wherever they shopped to exchange it for a new jar.
