ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Monroe County grand jury indicted a convicted sex offender for murder.
Whitney Morris is charged with second degree murder.
He’s accused of shooting and killing a 51-year-old man on the north side of Rochester on Nov. 26.
The victim, 51-year-old Christopher Porchea, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest at the corner of North Clinton Avenue and Norton Street.
He died days later at the hospital.
Police say it was a robbery attempt.
Morris was on parole at the time of the shooting, for a sex crime against a seven-year-old girl.
