Court docs: Man once named suspect in Brittanee Drexel case failed polygraph test

Federal prosecutors say a South Carolina failed a lie detector test in the 2009 death and disappearance of a 17-year-old Chili teen.

Taylor failed a polygraph test that was conducted by a special FBI agent in June of 2017, according to court documents related to a robbery case against Taylor. Prosecutors say Taylor is withholding information about the abduction and murder of Brittanee Drexel.

Drexel disappeared in 2009 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In 2016, an FBI agent testified that Taylor had been accused in connection with Drexel’s disappearance by a jailhouse informant. The informant told agents that he had seen Drexel and Taylor at a stash house in McClellanville, South Carolina, a few days after her disappearance in Myrtle Beach.

The FBI says based on the informant’s testimony, it believes Drexel was taken to the home in McClellanville, raped, murdered, then dumped in an alligator pit.

Taylor faces a sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to the robbery.
