ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A portion of North Clinton Avenue has reopened after police say more than 1,000 people shut it down temporarily Sunday night.

Police went to the scene on Clinton near Clifford Avenue and Upper Falls Boulevard around 7:30 p.m.

Officers say they encountered dirt bikes, ATVs, people playing extremely loud music and what police describe as "burnouts" when they arrived. RPD estimates approximately 1,500 people and 500 vehicles were there.

The crowd was dispersed safely, and there were no arrests. The road was cleared around 12:30 a.m. Monday. RPD says it had limited resources available at the time.
