Deputies: 2 people injured after horse and buggy crash in Ontario County

GORHAM, N.Y. (WHEC) — Two people were hospitalized after a horse and buggy crash in Ontario County on Wednesday.

Ontario County Sheriff’s Office responded around 3:30 p.m. to State Route 245 in the Town of Gorham for the report of a crash.

Annetta Fox, 53, and Roseanna Fox, 18, of Gorham, were traveling southwest on State Route 245 when their horse and buggy were hit from behind by a pickup truck that fled the scene.

Deputies say Annetta suffered injuries to her lower body and Roseanna suffered injuries to her head and back. Annetta was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via ambulance while Roseanna was airlifted by Mercy Flight.

The horse ran off but was captured in the area. Sadly, the horse had to be euthanized.

The pickup truck is described as a dark green Chevy pickup truck with a translucent white water tank in the bed.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
