Deputies: Brooklyn man arrested for drug crimes in Ontario County

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Brooklyn man was arrested Thursday after police say he sold fentanyl in Ontario County back in 2018.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began when they made several controlled purchases of fentanyl from two dealers, including a man from New York City.

Then, in 2019, the sheriff’s office said they identified that man as Johnny Ray Rogers of Brooklyn.

The sheriff’s office said in September of 2019, Rogers was indicted by a grand jury on three counts of second degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Investigators recently found an address for Rogers in Brooklyn and determined he was living there.

The New York Police Department’s Fugitive Division found Rogers at the address and arrested him Thursday.

The NYPD turned him over to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, which returned him to Ontario County.

Deputies say he’s awaiting arraignment in Ontario County Court.
