Deputies say speed was factor in 531 crash that killed motorcyclist

GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies say a motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash Sunday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a motorcycle crash on eastbound 531, just west of Manitou Road around noon on Sunday.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Deputies said Tuesday that speed was a contributing factor.

Deputies said the deceased was identified as Glenn A. Leary, 48, of Ogden.

531 eastbound was closed for hours during the investigation.
