EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — East Rochester held one of the first Memorial Day Parades on Saturday, honoring service members who died serving our country.

Veterans, current members of the armed forces, and members of the community marched through the town.

They then came together to remember the people we’ve lost.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said we all have a responsibility to leave this world a little bit better—and if we can do that, we will have honored service members’ sacrifices.

"We can’t take for granted the freedom we enjoy, the freedom that was secured by the service of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, by the sacrifice of our veterans, many of whom are here today, and the sacrifice of your families as well," said Bello.
