Fauci: Yearly COVID booster shot is possibility

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (WHEC) — According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, you shouldn’t rule out the possibility of a yearly COVID booster.

The idea has been tossed around recently, especially with the current booster shot having been released not even a year after the first two COVID doses were approved in December 2020.

Fauci says people might need to get a booster shot for COVID every year or two, but the biggest question would be about what variant the vaccine would target.

Fauci also says the best possibility would be a vaccine that protects against all possible variants and other types of coronaviruses.
