ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — While parts of southern NYS and especially Pennsylvania are getting a soaking rain, most of our area is just dealing with the clouds and that will continue to be the case into the start of the weekend.

The best chance of some light rain or showers will continue to be in the Southern Tier and southern Finger Lakes tonight into early Saturday. The sky will show a nice clearing trend from north to south on Saturday. So, lakeshore communities should see some sun by the early afternoon, with the sun making an appearance last in the Finger Lakes. Once it does though, everybody will see plenty of it for the next week! In fact, our next chance for some rain likely doesn’t come until next weekend with scattered showers or a few thundershowers.

As far as temperatures go, Saturday will feature a slight chill, with highs in the mid-50s and a brisk breeze making it feel a little cooler. Sunday makes it to 60, with 70s through mid-week and 80s returning by late week and into next weekend. If you’re helping mom plant her gardens this weekend, you’ll likely need to help her with watering them, as well. Mother Nature certainly won’t be bringing us rain for about the next week.
