First Alert Weather: Cool air tonight, but summer air makes a return

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — If you’ve been loving the cooler air, take advantage of the next 1-2 days, as summer will slowly, but surely making a return to Western New York. Low temperatures will drop into the 50s again tonight under a mainly clear, starlit sky.

Tuesday will be another comfortable one, with low humidity and temperatures a few degrees below average. Temperatures will steadily be climbing back through the 80s through the rest of the week and into the weekend, with 90s on the horizon by early next week. Humidity will be remaining low on Tuesday, but dew points will also be slowly climbing, with muggy air back in WNY by the end of this week, and hazy, hot and humid conditions early next week.

As far as rainfall goes, we’ll enjoy a nice change of pace, with very low rain chances through this work week, and only the outside chance of an isolated afternoon shower. We’ll see a better chance of showers or storms by next weekend, as a boundary slides south on Saturday, then mainly dry again Sunday. It is hard to believe, given all the rain we saw in July, but we may need to break out the sprinklers and water the gardens ourselves by the upcoming weekend.
