First Alert Weather: Cool start to the weekend, but great for outdoor plans

ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — Any showers with a cold front dropping through western New York this evening will fizzle, and we’ll be left with a mainly clear sky for the rest of tonight. With that, temperatures will likely drop into the upper 40s by early Saturday morning. Saturday will be a lovely day for outdoor activities, whether it’s the Greek Festival, Fairport Canal Days, or a birthday party! The only thing that may be less than ideal is a beach day, with high temperatures in the 60s and a northwesterly breeze. Otherwise, expect nearly full sunshine on Saturday, so sunscreen is recommended and sunglasses are a must! Sunday will see more clouds building in by the afternoon. A few showers may sneak in Sunday evening, becoming more widespread overnight with a warm front. That front will push our temperatures into the 70s to near 80 by Monday afternoon with a little sun returning. That warmth may set off a shower or rumble of thunder by late afternoon or evening, but most of Monday should be dry.

Tuesday will be our next "wet" day, with rain likely in the morning, tapering into the afternoon. After that, we’ll see a good deal of dry time through the majority of next week, with comfortable temperatures slightly below average, but holding in the lower 70s.
