First Alert Weather: Cranking up the heat this weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Enjoy our brief spell of seasonable and comfortable air overnight and Friday, as we’re going to turn up the heat again this weekend.

High pressure drifting overhead will keep us dry, and in the lower 80s on Friday. But as that high slides east on Saturday and another ridge begins to build in, temperatures will begin to climb. We keep the dry weather and sunshine around on Saturday, with highs soaring into the upper 80s.

Sunday will be our hottest day, with highs likely into the lower 90s. Dew points remain low and comfortable into Saturday but will climb a bit on Sunday. That, combined with our next cold front will increase our rain and storm chances later Sunday afternoon and evening. It will be far from a washout, but we’ll need to keep an eye on the sky and radar handy if you’re planning a beach or pool day.

Severe chances are fairly low at this point, but Sunday may need to be watched for a stronger storm or two. Stay with the First Alert Weather team, especially if you have outdoor plans on Sunday.

We should start next week a bit cooler and more comfortable once again.
