First Alert Weather: Fair weather prevails this week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — What you see is pretty much what you get the rest of this week.

High pressure remains in control, keeping us mainly dry. Meanwhile, it’ll slowly slide east, allowing our air temperature to climb a few degrees each day. We’ll make our way into the low to mid-80s on Thursday, then mid-80s on Friday. Dew points and moisture will slowly increase, as well. Relative humidity will remain in check, but with dew points slowly creeping into the 60s, it’ll allow afternoon pop up clouds and just the outside chance of an isolated shower.

The weekend: Rain chances will go up slightly this weekend, as a weak disturbance moves in later Saturday and into Sunday. That being said, the weekend will be far from a washout. In fact, the trend is that of more dry weather compared to recent forecasts. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s on Saturday, and hold in the mid-80s on Sunday, due to a few showers around.

The heat is back! The heat will return next week with highs up near 90 on Monday, with mainly dry weather. We’ll remain very warm and humid Tuesday through Thursday of next week, with highs well into the 80s, dew points in the 70s and a lot of "stick" to the air. Rain and storm chances will tend to go up again on Tuesday with a weak disturbance, and perhaps again by late Thursday into Friday with a more pronounced cold front. That should wash away the bigger heat and humidity by next weekend.
