ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — Cloud cover will stick around early this morning, but the sunshine will make its way through by the afternoon.

Temperatures will be on the chilly side as high pressure to our north continues to pump in cooler air. Highs this afternoon will make the mid-50s, and it will be a bit breezy out of the northeast which will make it feel a bit cooler. After clouds early today, however, we may not see much in terms of cloud cover for several days ahead.

Mother’s Day will be beautiful with highs near 60 degrees and plenty of sunshine. Then, after Mother’s Day is when we begin our warming trend. Highs early this week will quickly make their way into the low 70s by Tuesday, and then near 80 degrees by Thursday.

The summer-time warmth will continue into next weekend as well. with the Summer warmth, will come the Summer humidity as well. The jet stream will be well to our north this week, allowing us to warm up but high pressure will slide over to our southwest and bring in the moisture as well.

We will be dry for the majority of this week, but the dew points will increase late this week, making some of us turn on the A/C. After a bone dry week this week, the moisture will eventually pop a few afternoon thunderstorms next Saturday and Sunday.

Other than that, enjoy the next 7 days or so as we finally get a stretch of wonderful weather!
