ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — Morning clouds and showers will clear up on Thursday afternoon and give way to sunshine. Temperatures will bounce back into the 60s.

Much warmer weather will arrive on Friday with sun, clouds, and temperatures rising into the 80s. More heat and humidity are expected for the weekend with temperatures in the 80s.

The dewpoint will climb into the 60s to near 70. That indicates a lot of moisture out there so it will feel like July and August. With the high humidity, we will see a small thunder threat during the afternoon hours Friday and more so on Saturday but the bulk of the time will be rain free for outdoor plans.

The cold front will arrive on Sunday with showers and storms more likely. We need to keep an eye on that part of the forecast for strong to severe storms and we may need to put out a Yellow Alert for the end of the weekend. Stay tuned to News10NBC for the latest on the timing and strength of any weekend storms.
