ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – The first 2022 ROC the Block employment fair took place on Saturday in Jones Square Park. The event is the first in a series of four, held every month from July through October in each city quadrant.

More than 50 local employers participated. Attendees learned about and applied for available positions from employers that are currently hiring.

“ROC the Block Employment Fairs embody the power of partnership and collaboration,” said Mayor Evans. “I thank Council President Melendez for his continued leadership of these fairs, my team in the Department of Recreation and Human Services for coordinating the detailed logistics, and all of the employers for their participation. Working together, we provide economic empowerment opportunities, fulfill RASE Commission recommendations, and make a difference in the lives of city residents.”

In addition to opportunities for residents to meet directly with employers, the events included DJs, refreshments, and information on other City offerings.

The City is welcoming more employers to participate here. ROCtheBlock@cityofrochester.gov.
