ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The former head of the Rochester Housing Authority, who is getting ready to stand trial, is asking that his jury be fully vaccinated.
Lawyers for George Moses sent a letter to the judge, citing the expected length of the trial, the size of the courtroom and the impact if jurors were to be infected.
Moses is accused of money laundering, bribery, wire fraud and theft.
Federal prosecutors say he used public funds as a personal piggy bank, spending the money on cruises, spa treatment, tickets to sporting events, multi-level marketing schemes and more.
The judge did not rule on the jury vaccination issue.
Jury selection for Moses’s trial begins on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
