GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — Gates police said a man was struck in the head with a firearm during a carjacking on Tuesday.

Emergency Medical Services treated the victim for minor injuries. Police believe that a car stolen at Resolute Circle, also on Tuesday morning, was used during the carjacking.

Police found the victim around 4:30 a.m. when they were responding to a report of a vehicle stolen at gunpoint at Spencerport Road near Poplar Gardens apartments. The victim said two people in a grey Nissan were following him home from work.

Gates police haven’t yet recovered the car stolen in Gates but they did recover the grey Nissan, which they believe was stolen. They recovered the car on Spencerport Road.

No suspects are in custody and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
