Gates store gives away hundreds of backpacks to area students

GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — Hundreds of students in Rochester will be going back to school next month with new backpacks thanks to a local store that took part in a national backpack giveaway.
More than 700 TCC and Wireless Zone stores across the country donated more than 140,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for children.
Parents and children showed up to pick up hundreds of backpacks filled with pencils, paper, folders, glue and more at the TCC store on Lyell Avenue in Gates.
TCC has been taking part in this project since 2013. In that time, the company has given out more than a million backpacks across the United States.
