(WHEC) — General Motors is advising Chevrolet Bolt owners to not park their electric cars within 50 feet of other cars to reduce the risk of a potential fire spreading to other vehicles.
The new warning follows GM’s recall of more than 140,000 electric cars due to the risk of batteries spontaneously catching fire.
GM has confirmed fires in at least 12 cars but more continue to be reported.
The company has said it is working to fix the issues and will notify customers when replacement parts are ready.
