ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — A girl from Greece is helping in a statewide push for handicapped-accessible playgrounds.

Assemblyman Josh Jensen, who represents parts of western Monroe County, spoke about the "Everyone Can Play" bill on Monday morning in Albany. He was joined by nine-year-old Santii Patel of Greece. She’s been advocating for handicap accessibility.

The bill would establish a state grant program to help local towns install handicap-accessible equipment to playgrounds and make state parks more accessible.

Santii is also one of this year’s ESL Jefferson award winners.
