House burns for second time in a month
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – A house on Jefferson Ave in Rochester caught fire Wednesday morning for the second time this month.
The Rochester Fire Department responded to 676 Jefferson Ave around 1:30 a.m. The vacant, two-family home had heavy fire in back, which quickly spread to the rest of the building.
The house had extensive damage and had been boarded up from a fire three weeks earlier. Because of that damage, the fire department fought the fire from outside, where it took an hour-and-a-half to bring under control.
The house will need to be torn down. No one was injured.
The cause is under investigation.
