ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The $1 trillion infrastructure bill making its way through the Senate now includes some new rules on limo safety.

New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand have added some amendments in light of the crash in Schoharie three years ago.

The new proposal would require the Department of Transportation to do yearly inspections and limo operators would have to share those inspection histories with any prospective customers.

The bill would also fund research for better rules when it comes to collision safety and escape plans for crashes.
