Jack Quinn lands AHL’s Rookie of the Month

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Americans’ Jack Quinn is the American Hockey League’s Rookie of the Month after tallying 10 points in October.

It’s already more than he had in all of the shortened 2020 season.

Fresh off of hernia surgery in April, Quinn scored the first Rochester goal of the season less than five minutes into the season opener against the Utica Comets.

He ended the month with a goal and an assist in Rochester’s overtime win against the Laval Rocket.

Don Granato revealed what Quinn told him after this sent him to Rochester.

"We’ve all talked to lots of players and they’re not going to make a roster right now or there’s no room for them on the roster right now,” Granato said. “His immediate response was, ‘I still have some unfinished business down there’. That’s what he went down there looking at that way and that’s exactly why we drafted him and that’s why we enjoy having him in our organization."
