Jergens moisturizer being recalled over potentially hazardous bacteria

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A popular moisturizer is under recall because it may contain bacteria that can pose a risk to people with weakened immune systems.

The recall is for certain 3-ounce and 10-ounce bottles of Jergens ultra healing moisturizer.

The company that issued the recall says the bacteria typically poses little risk to healthy people, however, people who have certain health problems may be more susceptible to infections.

Kao USA is encouraging customers to stop using the impacted products as a precautionary measure.

The bottles under recall have the following lot numbers:
