Justin Morneau Inducted Into Red Wings Hall Of Fame

ROCHESTER, NY (WHEC) – Former Rochester Red Wing and MLB Vet Justin Morneau was inducted into the minor league team’s Hall of Fame prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Railriders. It comes after a stories pro career that spanned 18 seasons total, just over two of which came in Rochester. During his time in the Flower City, Morneau clubbed 39 homers, drove in 113 runs, and finished with an average above .300.

"I remember when I was when I was here and Cal Ripken Junior went in the Red Wings Hall of Fame," he said. "And any time you’re mentioned and even in the same sentence as Cal Ripken Junior, it’s a special thing. So this is a great baseball history. And this town, as I said, and I’m just fortunate and appreciative and humbled by the honor. So it’s a it was it was a great day. And I’m glad that we finally got to do it after a couple of years of COVID and everything else that was going on."
