Lights of Honor Tree Lighting Ceremony planned for this afternoon
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Saturday afternoon there will be a holiday tribute to local service members.
The Blue Star Mothers of Rochester are holding the Lights of Honor Ceremony for anyone who has or is currently serving in the military.
A member of each branch will be hanging an ornament on the tree at the Blue Cross Arena.
The program includes: Keynote Speaker, Nick Stefanovic, Director, Monroe County Veteran Service Agency, MC, Command Sergeant Major Larry Linville, United States Army. Retired, Gates Keystone Club Police Pipes & Drums, and Special Music, Pittsford Sutherland Concert Choir.
At the end of the ceremony, local families will be invited to place their own service person’s ornament on the tree.
