Man hospitalized after Lyell Ave shooting

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — One man is hospitalized after a shooting on Sunday night on Lyell Ave near Broad Street.
Rochester police responded to reports of shots fired around 11:30 p.m. but they didn’t find anyone at the scene.
Around 45 minutes later, officers learned of a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the lower body, who was taken to Strong Hospital in a private vehicle. An investigation found that the victim was shot on Lyell Ave. He is expected to survive.
No one is in custody and RPD is asking anyone with information to call 911.
