ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A convicted felon pleaded guilty to bank robbery and four counts of Hobbs Act robbery in a spree that spanned Monroe and Orleans Counties last year.

Prosecutors say 28-year-old John Cecchini of Albion committed five robberies between April 2, 2021, and April 5, 2021.

The first was at a Five Star Bank branch in Clarkson, the second was at a grocery store in Lyndonville, the third and fourth were gas stations in Clarkson and Albion, and a robbery at the Family Dollar in Medina was the fifth crime.

Prosecutors say he threatened to start shooting during one incident, pretended he had a gun in two others, and told an employee he had a taser in another.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16.
