Man shot on South Avenue in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police are investigating after a man was shot on South Avenue Friday night.

Rochester Police responded around 5:30 p.m. to the report of a person shot in the 600 block of South Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old Rochester man with at least one gunshot wound to his lower body.

The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive.

No suspects are in custody at this time.
