Mary Cariola’s ‘Walking on Sunshine’ fundraiser nets $145K

PENFIELD, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Mary Cariola Center Sunday held its 13th annual “Walking on Sunshine” fundraiser at Veterans Memorial Park in Penfield.
Mary Cariola serves nearly 500 children and youth with disabilities, many of them with multiple, or complex disabilities.
Its students come from more than 52 school districts in 11 counties and it also runs six residence homes in Monroe County that are home to 50 residents.
The fundraiser over-performed, raising more than $145,000, $15,000 more than the $130,000 they expected.
