ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Millions of jobless Americans who’ve been getting extra federal unemployment benefits are about to lose them.

Two programs will expire Monday.

One of them provides aid to self-employed and gig workers and the other is for people who’ve been unemployed for more than six months.

As a result, nearly nine million people will lose those weekly benefit payments and another two million will lose a $300 a week federal payment. That expires on Monday too.

Recipients will still be able to get their state benefits.
