Missing WV child recovered safely in Western New York, mother in custody

STOCKTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — The missing child from West Virginia who U.S. Marshals believed may have been taken to Webster, New York by her fugitive mother was found in Chautauqua County, New York on Thursday.

Marshals took the mother, 35-year-old Adrienne Grace Marean, into custody and recovered the one-year-old safely. Marean was charged on March 7, 2022, by the Bridgeport Police Department for violating a court order to transfer custody of a minor in February of 2022.

Members of the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, the New York State Police, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the apprehension. The search took investigators through numerous states and into Canada.
