Monroe County urges residents to use caution as damaging winds approach region

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County Executive Adam Bello urged residents on Sunday to prepare for potentially damaging winds and gales exceeding 65 miles per hour for late morning and into early evening.

The National Weather Service (NWS) advises the wind may topple numerous trees and cause possible widespread power outages.

The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the situation and stands ready to assist residents.

The First Alert Weather team issued a "Red Alert" and that will remain in effect for the entire region through the day on Sunday.
